Some mountains don’t move when we pray. They stay right where they are, towering, unmoved, unshaken. Not because God didn’t hear, but because He has a different purpose in mind.
Paul learned this when God didn’t remove his thorn:
“My grace is sufficient for you…” 2 Corinthians 12:9
Sometimes God’s answer isn’t, “I’ll move it.” Sometimes it’s, “I’ll strengthen you.”
Moses climbed Sinai. Elijah climbed Horeb. Jesus climbed the Mount of Transfiguration.
Those mountains didn’t move, God called His people upward.
The climb builds what the miracle of removal never will: endurance, trust, perspective, and a deeper dependence on God. Sometimes the real miracle is not the mountain shifting, but the climber changing.
So our prayer becomes simple:
Lord, if You don’t move this mountain, teach me how to climb it. Teach me Your pace, Your strength, Your presence, and show me what can only be seen from higher ground.
The mountain may stand firm, but you won’t. You’ll rise.
