Midweek has a way of revealing who we really are. Mondays carry ambition, Fridays carry relief, but Wednesdays carry truth. They show us whether the fire we felt at the start of the week is still burning or whether we’ve drifted into autopilot.
Today I found myself thinking about how God often meets His people in the middle, not at the beginning of the journey, not at the triumphant end, but right in the stretch where fatigue sets in and faith must become more than enthusiasm. Israel saw the Red Sea part at the beginning, and the Promised Land at the end, but the manna fell in the middle. The cloud led them in the middle. Their character was shaped in the middle.
Maybe that’s where you are today. Not defeated, not victorious, just somewhere between. And maybe that’s exactly where God wants to speak.
The middle of the week is a reminder that spiritual endurance isn’t built on mountaintop moments but on quiet, faithful steps. The kind you take when no one is watching. The kind you take when you’re tired. The kind you take when you’re still waiting for the promise to unfold.
So here’s my encouragement for your Wednesday: Don’t despise the middle. God does some of His best work there.
